Coming in September 2022.
At Mucky Picnic it is as much about the fun we have making art as it is about the finished ‘mess’terpiece! In our Playful Art classes, your little one will explore art and creativity through a variety of fun, mucky and sensory activities. So let’s make, mess and play together!
What can I expect from a Playful Art class?
Playful Art classes are laid-back, mucky and creative sessions for you and your little ones – and a space for you to meet other parents to have the chats! There is no structure to the class, so children will be free to explore, play and create using a variety of materials and textures on offer.
There is a big focus on process art, which is a child-led and open-ended activity. Process art encourages discovery and exploration, and is – as you’d guess! – more about the process of creating the art rather than the finished piece. It is a wonderful way to celebrate just how unique your little one is!
While some classes may have an overall theme, there will be no pressure to fit into a particular template or follow any steps. It is all about exploring and using our imagination to make, mess, and play!
Where are you based?
I am based in Lucan! The best way to keep on top of new and upcoming classes is over on Instagram @muckypicnic.
What age is it suitable for?
6 months – 3 Years. Younger siblings are welcome to come free of charge when accompanying an older child.
What materials do you use?
As this is a messy/sensory class we explore lots of materials. Any paints are all water-based, non-toxic and washable! Some sensory elements may include items from nature, small parts, etc. Please ensure your child is supervised at all times to ensure they don’t try to eat inedible materials or any small parts.
What should we wear?
While everything is washable at Mucky Picnic, please wear pre-loved clothes: dress for mess! Because mess is definitely going to happen. 🙂
Can I book you to run a class?
Please use the contact form if you are interested in booking me for a class or series of classes. I’d love to hear from you!
